sleep to sleep : may 17

Sleep to sleep
through a spine picked clean
to a skull with hair
with nothing in between

the Night to night
on whitened teeth
Sewn into the cloth of memory

with all of our agents underground
there must be news someway somehow

this ghost of heaven have ascended
into the night
fallen angels, and evil labels
tricked for the flight

Blue smoke from a flap of wings.
On the walls of the christening

i know....i know....

Outside fakir fireflies
rose to the sky
inside tiger appetites
ready to the bite

all who come into this world
will lift the veil, unfurl the curtain

i know...i know....

sleep to sleep
dream to dream
all is light
with nothing in between

raise the sails
trim the heat
we'll go on
to where nobodys ever been

let's be ready for the show
let's get there - somewhere somehow
i know...i know....

endless walks
on endless streets
two right hands
and two left feet

outside ourselves
we're coming clean
and then there's this
death in the morning

raise your voice above the crown
raise your arms above the clouds
i know...i know....

if you're cold
if you're lost
if you're whipped
and nailed to a cross

she just flies
into the night
like all good children
that put up a fight

it's a place where we can go
face the sun, face the snow
i know.....i know...

fightin against the hillibillys - may 17

fighting for the hillbillys

we feel it ain't the same when the west wind comes round
these girls they play their games when the rest of the worlds gone to ground
with these paper cowboy hats and their artificial glow
we'll wait for the next time out, then we'll hit the road

same day, same way, up again, fightin for the hillbillys
each day, i'm afraid, i'm again, fighting for the hillbillys
same place, same face, same taste, fighting for the hillbillys
same day, same way, up again, fightin for the hillbillys
fightin for the hillbillys

we stole coins from the parking meters food from the resturants
we took the change from the ice cream man  magazines from the local mart
and if you waste your last cigarette on a trip to the shopping mall
then don't complain to the voices that stomp and scream and yell

these days don't seem so loose as the airport parking lots
where we guaranteed our coins and paved the streets with plates and pots
now she works on the southern shore, and she shades her eyes at night
and she keeps her back to the door and she reads by candlelight

emily : may 17

settle down - 5/17

looking high, looking low
for a slice of life
a little bite of life
a place to lay me down the fight

packing up for another day
pack all you hopes and childhood dreams away
take a trip on a moscow train tonight

got a call from a long lost friend
so sure i' d never hear that voice again
for some crazy reason we went our separate ways

those fantastic memories in our mind
cannot strip away clocks ticking all the time
i'm sorry john but there's not that much to say

except...oh lord won't you help me?
lord won't you help me?
oh lord, won't you help me to settle down, settle down.

and it get's so hard trying not to cry
i can't understand it when people down
you just sit and hide until someone, anyone
turns on the light
